Greetings heroes/citizens,today I manage to stole some time to write this review. I’m going to write about one of my Super Imaginative Chogokin (S.I.C), and this one is S.I.C Burning and Shinning Form Agito from Volume 20. This is a S.I.C Classics 2007 series, actually this is a reissued edition (missed the first issued edition), nothing was redone or resculpted. The only things new in this series are a S.I.C Hero Saga, Mini Books included, it’s about four pages of story , written in Japanese and the outer sleeves for the box. This is a double packed S.I.C, Kamen Rider Agito with Another Agito (but that another review).
I bought this from Hobby Link Japan, for Japanese Yen 4500 that is about RM138 or USD42, not including shipping.I bought this on October 2007. About Kamen Rider Agito, you can find it here. This action figure was manufactured by Bandai, and sculpted by Ando Kenji. This figure was firstly released on September 2003.
Packaging; Bandai used the same box from the previous released of vol.20, but with an added outer sleeves.Inside the box, the figure was put on a plastic tray with plastic lid cover, there is another plastic tray for accessories. The figure was tied by more than dozen of twisties. A blue colored cardboard for the background with Agito logo on it. An instruction leaflet and a mini book are also given.
Design; I like the design of Agito in Burning Form better than in Shining Form. I like especially, the simple yet practical design of the body armor of Agito in this series. It made changing the body armor easy, and they stay put right the way it (the armor) should be. Andi manage design a great look of Agito in S.I.C version. While there is nothing to complain in Shining Form, I some how find the design of it in S.I.C version is not very impressive. The design of the head is not as good as Kamen Rider Kuuga (Kuga is Vol. 22), I mean the head looks great when the jaw is closed, but when you opened his mouth , Agito looks like an old man with no teeth
The design of Kamen Rider Agito is sort of bio-organics (bio-organics???this is a word of S.I.C fans) looks, he is supposed to look like a beetle/insects. There are spikes on his back, blades on his arms, spikes on his shoulders and scales like texture on his thigh armor. The carvings on his body make the figure looks more detailed and like an insects.
Articulations; for an older version of Si.I.C , the articulations can be considered advanced and very practical. In Burning Form, even though the body armor looks bulky on the shoulder, believe me it will not affect the movement of his shoulder. For me, the articulations is one of the best in S.I.C line. All joints are tight (easy for displaying), but that is not a problem, you can always repair loose joints with the “Super Glue” technique.
Colorings; great nothing to complained. All washing and effects and dry brushing are moderate. Not too much ,not less.
Accessories; not much for a S.I.C figure. Couples of sabres that can be attached together to form a longer sword. Extra fists, body armor(Shining type) , extra hands, legs , and some more armor.
Should you buy or not?: although Agito storyline not very exciting (my personal thought), the figure is very much exciting to play with
. It’s solid, steady and savage looking design that made it worth to buy.
