Medicom RAH: Spiderman 3 (red suit)

Greetings heroes/citizens,today I’ll review one of my collection. A Medicom Real Action Hero (RAH) Spiderman 3. I got this from HLJ a few months ago, there are four types of Spiderman 3 action figures made in RAH series red suited Spidey, black suited Spidey, Venom and Limited Edition Peter Parker. I only bought this red suited Spidey, there are reasons why.
Packaging; like most of Medicom RAH series, it came in a box with a window and flip cover. It was design according to the red suit of Spiderman. It is a simple packaging design, but manage to capture the spirit of the movie. As usual the figure was laid on a plastic tray and covered by a plastic cover. It don’t have any twisties or rubber bands to hold the figure.
Design; this is the only reason I bought this action figure. If you take a really good look at the figure, instantly you’ll fall in love with it. But looks can be deceiving. To have the suit fitted tightly to the Naked Kai’s body (the base of the action figure), they have sacrificed the movement ability of the figure. They used embossed ink for the webbing lines and the spider logos on the suit. I don’t know the material that was used to make the suit, but I came out with two plausible materials. The suit was either made of a PVC fabrics, or it was made of a soft fabrics and then painted red and blue to make it look like a leathery fabric. But I don’t think they will go through a difficult process to make the suit, so I think it was made from some kind of PVC material.
Although the suit is stretchable(it will come back to it’s original form, see the rah_spiderman_16 and 17 pictures, I took those pictures after I posed him in a very hard poses), I don’t want to take the risk of tearing the stitches or the fabric by making it do difficult poses.I’m curious why Medicom use this kind of material for the suit? It limited the action of the figure and don’t look like the suit in the movie. The material used for the suit is just a joke, it won’t show the muscles of the Kai body, it looks awkward at the neck (looks like Spidey gained a few pounds).
Even though I hate the suit, there are things that I like with what they have done to the suit, I meant the effect that looks just like the real suit wore by Tobey Maguire in the movie. But I think it will be more movie accurate if they made the effect rectangles rather than circles. I like to see the action figure but I hate playing it, no fun at all.
As for the head sculpt and boots, the head sculpt is acceptable although I think there is something wrong with the sculpt. The boots’ webs is too thick and it overly done. The boots is removable by the way.
Articulations; it sucks! No thanks to the suit, Medicom use a highly articulated body base for the action figure but the suit only limited the ability of the joints. The most problem area is the shoulders, they have almost no chance to move I can’t lift the hands up, and don’t even think of making the pose like in front of the box.
Accessories; nothing, just an extra pair of hand/fist. One in web-shooting pose and the other is opened hand. That’s it!
Colors; nothing much to said about the colors. I like it but they can improve it especially the colors for the webbing. It’s too black, maybe they should use a silver or gold color to make it more movie accurate. All webbing including the head’s are embossed, and not just a thin layer of paint.
Collector’s values; although this is not a limited edition action figure, Medicom does produce their product in a limited quantities. This action figure was produced unlike other mass produce products like Hasbro, Mattel, Toy Biz etc. Some day it will become a rare item but I don’t think it will be in this near future.

I like the design and colors, but I think it’s a little too expensive. I found one at Amazon but will wait until the price goes down.
