Hot Toys : Resident Evil 4, Jack Krauser

Greetings heroes/citizens, ha.. I love the smell of new toys. Today I’ll review my latest 1/6 action figure that was added into my collection recently.This is a Hot Toys Video Game Masterpiece Jack Krauser. It was manufactured ,distributed and released by Hot Toys and Blister Direct. I got this from Sideshow Collectibles. Retail price for this action figure is $134.99. Locally this action figure is sold out every where.There is a few more stocks at Sideshow. I assumed you already knew who Jack Krauser is, and I will not introduce him here. Just Google him if you want to know who he is

Packaging; the box is thick and heavy, I figured it’s because of the magnets inside the box’s cover flap. The box is a flap cover type,which have a plastic tray on the flap that keep the accessories and weapons, it fit nicely to the window section of the box when it’s closed. Because the box is big I only took picture of the front side of the box. The design of the box is simple and with a minimum amount of graphics on it. Jack Krauser is laid on a black plastic tray and covered with two layers of clear plastic cover. Some twisties used to tied the figure and also some cellophane tapes for the accessories.

Design/sculpt; the first thing when I first saw this action figure, I was very worried about the rubber muscle suit used as the outer layer on the naked body. But I’m impressed, the rubber muscle suit is not as bad as I thought it will be! Yes it does limit the movement a little bit, but to hide the ugly joint on the elbow, I am more than happy to accept that. The movement of the elbow is great, it can be lifted up and down easily, the torsos part of the figure was a bit tricky but I was able to lift it up after a few try. It’s not the rubber suit but the tight joint of the torso that made the movement of the joint a little bit hard the first time, and with the rubber muscle suit covering the joint, I didn’t know how to move it at first.After a few twist and turn, I’ve got the hang of it, and the figure is ready to be in action. The rubber muscle suit is soft and at the same time durable for the figure to pose.

I like the rubber muscle suit, it hide the joint and make a figure looks more real and believable. But like I always said there is no perfect action figures made in this non perfect world, the suit also have a weakness. It’s soft and tacky texture tend to attract lint and dust. If you see in the photos below, at the arms and neck you can see an obvious lint sticking to the rubber muscle, from the shirt he is wearing. I would like to suggest you use a PVC protective/cleaner liquid, but even I haven’t try it yet, so please if you want to do it, do it at your own discretion.

Headsculplt is superb, Jack Krauser looks cold and I can see that he’s cruel in his eyes. Other sculpt are also very impressive, you can see the finger nails and veins.

As for the his apparels, it’s just like any 1/6 military action figures.They are very details and sometime I can’t believed that they were able to do that. The belt have a real rivets made of some kind of metal.Some assemblies are required for the belt, like the holster for the arrows, knife, grenades and a pouch.it’s not so hard to attached them, and not so easy either.

Articulations, I already elaborate the articulations in the design , so no need to say more, it rocks!

Colors; The colors are not much applied onto the figure, but most of the colors were applied to the accessories. All I can say about the colors is they are great, very neat and the amount of colors used are appropriate. I like the colors on the guns the most,the gun looks like it’s a real thing. The same goes to the boots, he colors made it looks like it was made of fabric,s but it’s plastics. The hairs looks believable, his face’s colors tone were supposed to make him looks pale and like a corpse.

Accessories; it have a machine gun, an army knife,a baret, grenades,stun grenades, a bow and arrows. The bow can shoot those arrows, and it can go quite fast and accurate. If you got changed by an evil wizard to a 1/6 size one day, make sure to get these bow and arrows , because it can help you survived in that kind of hush world, hehe, [Off topic end] The gun’s magazine can be take out, you can see a bullet in the magazine. Oh yeah, I almost forgot there is also a Seeker Robot (Crawling) and a display stand base. You need to assemble the Seeker robot’s legs, they have a very limited articulations.

Collectors values; yes, you are advised to get it even if you’re not a fan of Resident Evil’s game. If you’re a Resident Evil’s fans it is a must!
