Greetings heroes/citizens.Halo is a huge video game franchise which I think I don’t need to introduce to you. If you let your fingers do some working on your keyboard, I’m sure you will find a website dedicated to Halo. Anyway, back to my world this is a 12 inch Masterchief action figure manufactured by McFarlane Toys. Retail price for this action figure is somewhere around $39.99-$40 something. If you can find a lower price tag than that buy it, don’t think twice.

Packaging; I hate it, because I’m living in a small room with no space to display my toys. I always kept my action figures back in the box, and this type of packaging is not for those B.I.B collectors including me. It’s either you live it on the card or rip it off and put it on your display cabinet.

Design/sculpt; ok, it just a bigger scale of the 5 inch Masterchief. Most of the detail sculpt on the small Masterchief will be more obvious on this version.I compare it to another Spartan Soldier, I can’t remember which box I put my small Masterchief. Anyway you can see how big he is from the pic.Like the small version, this Masterchief came equipped with an assault riffle and a grenade. It can be attached on his back and leg.Really nothing special,in design and sculpt other than the gigantic size.

Articulations; this is the best part. I like the locking joints mechanism (like Revoltech) used for the hips. This will help this heavy giant stands and do some action poses. Other than that, the fingers on the right hand have great articulations. It uses ball joint and swivel joint for the fingers.

Colors; not bad, the armor is in olive drab color with pearl effect. It’s not necessary I think but, what the heck it looks good.Detailing lines were done neatly,and the body base was painted with light black and washed with a darker black. The visor was painted with metallic golden color.

Accessories; just the rifle and a grenade.

Greetings heroes/citizens. This is just a quick look at another newly released action figure from Diamond Select in the Marvel Select line. This is Marvel Select Iron Man. Retail price for this is also about $19.99-$2+.++.

Packaging; Same with the last Marvel Select nothing different besides the graphics and the plastic tray/bubble.

Design/sculpt; I am quite disappointed with the design,the hip’s ball joints was not covered by anything at all.It looks weird with that bulging ball joints.Also the wrists/palms was molded in a flight mode. Diamond Select at least should give another set of interchangeable fist. This Iron Man only looks good in flying pose, it sucks at standing still with no display base,but overall design is quite good.

Articulations; not bad, but I really hate those two hips ball joints. Really, I have no other complain about the articulations.

Colors; nice, I really loves the metallic red. I also have no complain about the color but, if you look closely mine have a finger print on the face. As always watch out for the joints, it will chipped if you move it too much.

Accessories; a display base and a blasting fire and smoke effect. Actually the smoke/fire should be put on to the display base, and guest what I forgot to take the picture of it. You can see it in the packaging.

Values; hmm… this is hard, what I can say is it’s not for everyone. I think big fan of Iron Man and those that collects statues/dioramas might like it as it have a very limited posing style.

Greetings heroes/citizens. Updating the base today with my latest inventory, Marvel Select Thor. It was released last month in US but I only got it now. This action figure was sculpted based on the design of  Olivier Coipel’s and JMS’ revamped Thor. Retail price for this action figure range anywhere from $19.99 to $2+.++.  This action figure was sculpted by Gentle Giant.

Packaging; like always, Marvel Select have the same packaging design. It’s made to be displayed but I don’t care much about the packaging,to me it’s an icing on a sweet delightful cake.

Design/sculpt; I’m a fan of Olivier Coipel’s Thor design, and this action figure really bring the character to life with all the detail sculpt, the most obvious detailing works are his battle armor.The cape was nailed to the body, so it will give the shoulders a free movement.The plates on his body, have some battle damaged effects, neat.The face sculpt is fantastic, looks like the comic’s version. Other things that impressed me are the different parts used for the headsculpt. The helmet, helmet’s wings and hair were assembled from different parts,it’s not molded in one piece.By the way Thor is about 7 inch tall.

Articulations; not bad you can see the pose I made, it’s quite an articulated action figure, but I hope they can improve the hips points of articulations for their next products, but from the looks of the other upcoming products they’ll use this kind of joint for the hips.

Colors; no complain but, the joints’ colors will chipped if you move it to many times. Not a bad thing as most toys will have this problem. Do a Google search on how to fix this. Back to this topic, the colors used for Thor are perfect choice.Not much washing, the hammer looks like it’s made of stone, and the display base also have a nice finish.

Accessories; just the Mjolnir and a wall mountable display. The Mjolnir have no writings on it.

Collectors values; personally I like this action figure and I don’t give a damn about others. It may not be the best Thor action figure,but the resemblance to the comic version made me got this.

Packaging; it’s a damn big box for a Movie Realization action figure. It’s bigger than my size 10 Nike shoes box (and it’s a basketball shoes). You might get the picture of how big it is , I also have to use Photoshop to edit the box’s picture because it will not fit the background that was set on my photo shoot’s table.The box have a flap cover, flip it up and there is a huge windows, perfect for M.I.S.B collectors, not me. The graphics was done by Masakuza Katsura and it’s suits the movie’s theme, black background with silver fonts.Inside the thick box there is a tray and the cover.Not much twisties, as it uses buttons to snap the cover and the tray together, so it holds the toys inside nicely.

Design/sculpt;it’s about 7 inches tall, and yes it doesn’t look like the Bat in the movie. That’s the whole idea of having this Movie Realization action figures. You got a movie based action figure that was given a bit of twist to make it more fun. He looks thinner than the real one and have a very muscular chest, too muscular if you ask me.The sculpts are fantastic, but I still don’t understand why there are translucent parts on his big chest, it should be black and make it flat black.The headsculpt is amazing, Batty have a sharp deep looks on his eyes. Another thing that bothered me is the “neck brace”, the neck should be one sleek piece so that he doesn’t looks like he injured his neck from the fight scene with Scarecrow. It (the brace) looks good from the back but not from the front. The last thing that I hate is the cape, it should be made of cloth. There is a gimmick that I like though, the fins on both of his hands can be flipped up and down, it’s for the hands to be fitted nicely on the Batpod’s handles, it kind of hard to get them in there.

The Batpod, I was surprised that there are many parts on the Batpod that was made of die cast metal. That’s why it’s so heavy. The Batpod design are not much different from the real Batpod, but if you see it you know it’s a Movie Realization version. Both tires were made of rubber that adds more points to why you should get this. If you put Batman on the Batpod, he looks like he is riding the Batpod not like he was doing something inappropriate to his Batpod. The Batpod’s wide tires made it stable to stand on it’s own but just to be safe use the display stand that was provided.

Articulation; the Batman got a very good set of articulation. The only complain for Batman’s articulation are on the shoulders. The shoulders’ armors was made fixed to the body and it limited the movement of the shoulders.You can see the picture of him holding up the grappling gun, that’s the high it can be. Other than that, the socket ball joint for his hips works like a charm. The Batpod, not so much or maybe I’m just being to precautions. I don’t want to break something on the Batpod as I had a very long history about breaking toys accidentally. So you have to find out at your own risk haha The handles can be turn left and right, both tires can spins and remember how the Batpod’s front tire turned around in the chase scene? Nope that can’t be done with this, I’m quite upset with that.

Colors; no complain, but the I hate the chest’s colors. It should be flat black. The colors of the bat suit are not all black , if you look closely there is a dark grey on the background. His face looks tanned. As for the Batpod, the colors are superb, the exhaust is not made of diecast metal but the colors made it looks like a die cast metal. No silver smudges on the tires, and

Collectors values; do I really need to tell you? Hell yeah it’s a freakin’ awesome Batman action figure. So if you don’t want to get it, its up to you but believe me there are much things that you’ll be missing if you’re not getting this one. Now Bandai, make me a Movie Realization Ironman and Iron Monger muahaha…

Greetings heroes/citizens, today I have a new toys and I got some time to play with it. But this is going to be really short as I’ll need to finish my work first. This is the latest action figure from Diamond Select in Marvel Select line. Retail price for this is around $19.99 it was release a few weeks ago. This action figure was sculpted by Gabriel Marquez. This is the normal green version, Diamond Select will also make a Red Hulk, but it is not released yet.

Packaging; Not very “back in the box” friendly kind of packaging. It’s either MISB or you opened it and throw away the packaging, easy to open because it’s so heavy the glue that stick the bubble plastic to the cardboard is not doing a great job, it might tear the cardboard a bit and you may ended up with some chapped packaging.I hope they will learn this next time and maybe use a clamshell for a big figures like this. But the best thing about the packaging is the graphic design,it’s awesome.

Design/sculpt; in terms of design and sculpt I might rate this as the best Hulk figure that was ever made. Standing about 8 inches tall, he looks great trashing my Ripclaw. The sculpt deserves two thumbs up, the veins sculpted are very realistic and not overly done.Because he’s big the face sculpt are also a thing to talk about. You can count the teeth, well if you want to.

The Hulk came with a display base, it fits nicely to the feet of Hulk, his feet are big and flat you actually don’t need a base to display it.

Articulations; this is the part which this Hulk is lacking. But if you have previous Marvel Select action figures, you know that Marvel Select is still “learning” about articulations. It’s not very bad you can do some simple pose, at least it have 14 points of articulations. The best articulations are the shoulders, the hips and knees-fail.Other than that the articulations are not bad.

Colors; the body was painted green and washed by a darker green, that make the detail sculpts really pops up.

Accessory; just a really cool looking display base.

Collectors values; I personally think that Marvel Select is really catching up on what the collectors wants.They first made a true to comic icons alive, than they gradually making them better, adding more articulations to it and I think this can be the alternate choice to the not so legend, Marvel Legends, by “Hasblow”. It kind of cure me from the depression that I had from what “Hasblow” had done to Marvel Legends.
