Greetings heroes/citizens today I’ll review my latest Transformers action figures that I bought. Transformers Animated, Optimus Prime. I bought this from local supermarket, The Store for RM104.90. This is a Voyager Class Transformers. I think this is the best Optimus Prime created for Transformers Animated’s toy line. This action figure is from Hasbro.

Packaging; it come in an unusual design of box. Don’t get me wrong I like the design of the box, to me it’s “back in the box” friendly. There are some twisties used to hold the toys. The figure was laid on a plastic tray. There is an instruction leaflet.

Design; Optimus Prime looks great both in vehicle mode and robot mode. The first time I watched the leaked video of this animation, I was very skeptical that they can make a decent toys of the animation. But then the prototype photos started to leak and I was amazed by it.

In vehicle mode Optimus Prime is a truck cab. Unlike the 80’s version, he have no trailer :) In truck mode, I gave Optimus Prime 98% resemblance to the animation looks. The obvious differences to the truck mode are the battle axe that was folded and place at the back of the truck and there is not a single Autobot’s logo on him.I don’t know if this is a factory mistake or Hasbro forgot to put it on him, but from the packaging I can see that he have no Autobot’s logo on him. As for the battle axe, you can see the different of the truck with and without it in the pictures below. You can display it with or without the battle axe, no matter how you choose to display he looks great in truck mode.

Transforming this voyager class Transformers is easy, it feature a “Gravity-Spin Conversion” technology. I don’t see what so great about that technology other than annoying me. But, there are other more practical gimmicks. This is the best part of this figure, a flip-up battle mask/face armor, and it really work.It just a simple creation that really gave more aesthetic values to the figure. Also there are the translucent eyes, if you hold the figure up, under light source it will shine and make him look alive.

In robot mode the battle axe can be hang on the back of him, although it is too big and make it look like a pair of wings, it’s kinda cool.

Articulations; not the best but it sure can perform some simple poses without a problem. I like the articulations of the shoulder’s joints. Look at the pictures, to see why I love it. The shoulders are big and bulky but don’t be fooled by it’s look they are very flexible. The broad feet make him stand steadily.

Colors; I have no complain about the colors for this figure, but WHY??!!WHY??!! there is no Autobot’s logo on him. Think I have to figure out something to put it myself.

Collectors values; yes this is a worth action figure to get one. It’s not going to be a rare item, but it does have an aesthetic values as a collector’s item.
