Greetings heroes/citizen. lol it’s been too long since my last review. This time I’m writing review of Medicom Punisher RAH 12-inch Figure. I was waiting for Hot Toys to announce a Punisher figure from either Punisher:War Zone or the first movie, but the wait is just too long instead I picked up a Medicom RAH Punisher from Sideshow Collectibles. This action figure was released August last year. Retail for this ranging from $99.99 (Sideshow) to more then $150 (HLJ is selling it for $172). So why is this action figure is worth the money? Let us see why.
Packaging; the presentation for the packaging is simple. The design is meant to be looked like the cover of the comic book. The legendary big white skull on front of the box dominate the entire looks of the box from the front. No sleeve or additional protective for the box. Packaging inside the box is the plastic bubble.
Design/sculpt; I think this Punisher was the adaptation of the comic title Punisher Return To Big Nothing by Steve Grant and Mike Zeck. It’ s my safe bet, but I maybe wrong. To compare this action figure with the looks of Frank Castle in that comic book- the Medicom version is much slimmer. Honestly the headsculpt is marvelous, I really like it. It have a very “comic book style” looks. The face lines are realistic, so are the teeth, the eyes really shows he’s really pissed off of something.Same as the other Real Action Hero Marvel series Medicom had made, this action figure is also using the superhero type body, which I think is the kai and some extra muscle.
The spandex costume is very flexible and the texture is very fine so it really following the contour of the muscle body and make the action figure looks more real. The shoes and gloves are made of white rubber, very soft material. The belt is not absolutely white, it’s actually a very light blue color almost white. The belt can be removed easily but it will not fall off unintentionally. The costume is what makes me think that this is the Return To Big Nothing version of Punisher. The belt design is intergrated as part of the skull on his chest. The hands hold the weapons perfectly, not loose or too tight.
Points of articulations; the articulaction is as good as the Comic Book Spidey (also by Medicom) if not better. Thanks to the spandex costume. The neck is quite loose, but it will not fall off, from my experience it is better if your Medicom’s joints are a bit loose, because the materials used are very fragile. The articulation of the ankles are a bit limited because of the boots, but other than that there is no problem.
Colorings; not much to color for an action figure like this. Mostly the colors used are on the headsculpt. In my opinion, Medicom should airbrush a thin black/grey on his chin, jaw and upper lips to make trimmed mustache and beard effect. I might do that myself, not now though. I have no complain on the overall paint application.
Accessories; not much, a pair of pistols and an MP5 sub-machine gun and a generic clear plastic display stand. The weapons are not bad, but if you compare it with other manufacturer like Hot Toys or Soldier Story it’s way below their categories. TO make it more interesting I used some extra accessories on him and the result is quite interesting.
Overall aspects of this action figure is remarkable. Not only the points of articulations are great, the “comic books style” looks really awesome. The accessories are very little for a $99.99 action figure but if you like looks over quantity this is the right one for you. I give;
- 5/5 for packaging
- 5/5 for design/sculpt
- 5/5 for points of articulations
- 4/5 for colorings
- 3/5 for accessories

Not “cartoony” it’s comic book style. Just like Spidey, it was meant to look like that. Bare in mind that this is not a Movie Masterpiece

Hi Baseguardian…”Return to Big Nothing” was an AWESOME Punisher book…I too like the look of this Punisher version, but would like to have seen him bulkier…My question is, can you swap heads on this figure, like with a Hot Toys, etc..??…Thanks…

Hey Matt, I don’t think there will be much problem if you want to use the head on Hot Toys body, but maybe you have to mod it a little bit(I’m not sure about the mod, I never did this before). But if you want to swap the body, you can’t strip the spandex, it was sewn permanently onto this body, you have to open the stitches and re sew it which is very difficult thing to do. But if you only want to swap the head I think it’s no problem. Good luck, and let me know if you did it
