S.I.C Kamen Rider V3 (Vol.18)

Greetings heroes/citizens,today I’ll write a short review of another S.i.C , Kamen Rider V3. I only review V3 for today, and as for Riderman I’ll write the review on other day. This is a “twin-pack” series Kamen Rider V3 with Riderman. This is actually a reissue for the original released Vol.18, so they called this S.I.C Classics 2007 (Hero Saga). I bought this from HLJ on June 2007.

Packaging; not very special or different , the truth is they just put another cardboard jacket on the outer of the original’s box and tada.. new looks :lol: The figures and their accessories were put on a plastic tray with cover and they were tied with twisties, (my sworn enemies) :lol: Another new companion for this series is the Hero Saga Booklet, it’s a photography booklet about 6 pages, showing Riderman in a “what if?..” version.

Designs/sculpts; V3 doesn’t look this great in the 80′s tv series. He had a saggy chest and stomach, well the technology of making the suit that time was not like today :lo:  I don’t blame them. In this S.I.C like the other S.I.C they were all redesign with a more vicious looks and they adapted insects/animal spirits on their sculpture to give it more Rider Spirit. The only chogokin (die cast metal) elements that were put to Kamen Rider V3 in this series are on his belt. Two pieces of it, on the front and on his right belt, the Henshin device (on the left of his belt) is a separate piece, so it doesn’t count as the belt’s chogokin. Beside that there are also some gimmicks made for this action figure . Helmet, the jaw can be opened to reveal his cracked human face, and at the back of his body, he got a pairs of translucent wings, and his mufflers in the tv series were redesign to make it look like a pair of wings. The sculpting was detail as usual and there is nothing to complain, at least I’m not.

Articulations; being the early versions of S.I.C, Kamen Rider V3 has the disadvantages of limited articulations. If you know S.I.C from the beginning, Bandai made them to be only as a display piece. They (S.I.C) have very limited articulations and more like Takumi Damashii action figures. But the articulations are not very bad, it still playable and  poseable. To be honest although Kamen Rider V3 is one of my favorites Kamen Rider,this is not the best action figure to play with again the articulations is the main cause.

Colorings; nice colorings effects.No complain, the green is darker than the tv series version and so is the red. The weapon’s colors are also neat and realistic. The wash not to much and so is the dry brush effect.

Accessories; very generous,all of Kamen Rider V3′s weapons and other accessories in the tv series were reinvented and given (I think so, let me know if they missed one). Three extra changeable fists, a pair of antennas and his mufflers.

Collectors values; get this if you’re a V3 fans or a S.I.C completeist, why? Because this is not a playable toy get the Sochaku Henshin if you want more articulations.

    Hi Damien, you probably;
    1. bought the first issue. Is the box the same like mine or is it different? The first issue don’t have outer sleeve.
    2.bought the first issue, but the seller put the sleeve from the Classic series.
    3. You bought the Classic Series, but it was opened.
    That’s only my thought :roll:

    i have 1 question. your 1st picture. which is the box. is that the outer case or the inside case?

    cause mine comes with 2 cases. the outer ones says classic but the inside says nothing about classic.

    thank you for replying to me

    I see, disregard of what I said previously. Maybe, your version is the local version. If I’m not mistaken the booklets are only for Japanese version. If you bought local version, there is a hologram sticker, for instance for my country there will be a Bandai Malaysia sticker on the back of the box. Japanese version don’t have that sticker.

    oo thx a lot for that info, yes it does have the sticker bandai malaysia. so if i want the booklet i have to see the box without the hologram sticker then.

    so that means yours is the japanese version then.
