Greetings heroes/citizen. It’s another 1/6 scale action figure review lol I just noticed I haven’t buy anything other than 12″ figures lately, so that’s where all my money went to
Packaging; the outer graphics are the same as Chris Redfield’s box, no outer sleeve, just a magnetic flap cover. Inside the box is a plastic tray with 2 lids. I kinda hate the tray they use this time. If you notice the tray, at the bottom part it have 6 mounts to hold the legs. Well, it’s too tight, you should take extra careful when you want to take her out of the box. I think that parts are not necessary at all, the upper part of the tray have secure the figure neatly, they even put extra plastic support for the chest and hip. They should have made more room for the legs, I suggest if you have display cabinet, don’t put her back in the box, it will damage the boots if you keep her in the box. If you still want to keep her in the box, cut that parts out (the mounts). Other than that, the box is ok they even put in a sachet of silica gel to keep the leather mint, I guess, no twisty.
Design/sculpt; the first thing you’ll notice about Sheva here that is different from the original video game looks is the height. I think the neck is the cause here, it’s too long. This is probably made this way to let her use the Sniper riffle that came with her. Another thing that Hot Toys sacrifice the looks to make her able to use the sniper riffle is cutting her shoulders. The first time I saw this, I thought why in the world would Hot Toys do this? But then, after I played and tried some different poses I know why, you can never achieve certain poses if her shoulders are not cut. I’m more than willing to let her not use the sniper riffle than cutting the shoulders like this, but what is done is done. Some people like her to use the sniper riffle, some would love to see nice uncut shoulders, Hot Toys definitely can’t make their products suit everyone’s tastes right?
The headsculpt is perfect imho, I have no complain at all. She looks the same to me like in the promo arts or the video game, and this time unlike Chris, the earphone can be fitted nicely on her ear without problem. I got problem with Chris’ earphone, it always fell off, not sure if it happens to anybody else. The hair was sculpted with different parts to make it looks more real, her ponytail is not movable so is the front part. Thank god the hair is sculpted and not plucked, I really hate that kind of hair, that’s the reason I didn’t buy HT E.R.T and Silken Floss.
Her costume is mind blowing, one the best part about this action figure. They manage to copy down the details of the patterns on her tank top in the game into this one, she’s even wearing an undergarment underneath the tank top. The belts, armbands, boots, gun holster and com radio’s pouch is made of leather, not sure if it’s a real leather. The body harness, is made of plastic and it have a strap on the back to hold the shotgun.
Her body frame is small, you can feel it inside the rubber body, the texture of the rubber almost like human flesh.
Point of articulations; I was worried of the body at first, I thought maybe it will be hard to pose her, but believe me the legs are more difficult to pose. This is because of the pants are too tight, I can’t bend her knees at all. The ankle is flexible thanks to the leather boots. Like I said before the shoulder was cut so it is more free to move, but please read the instruction given when you want to move her arms, it’s so tiny inside. I can bent the elbow over 90° to the front. The neck is ball jointed and it have two level of articulations, so it’s quite articulated.
Accessories; I don’t have to write long about this as you can see it in the pictures yourself, just to let you know the M37 is not the same as the one that came with Chris. The hand-grip pump is not movable, other than that all other firearms were made with at least one moving part. New weapons are the VZ61 Scorpion, Benneli M3, PSG1, S&W Revolver and for hand combat she is equipped with a dagger. The revolver’s cylinder can be pulled out to reveal more details. Other accessories included are radio and magazine pouches, necklace, comm radio, 2 pieces of amulet thinggy and 3 extra interchangeable palm hands. Not to forget also included is the black display stand with her name and BH5 logo on it.
Colorings; the face make up (colorings) is better than the second proto images if you can remember that one. They showed that image when they announced the upgraded hands for Sheva. I think that colorings are bad, this one is nice it is more soothing. The skin tone is a bit fair,I think she has darker skin tone than this one in the game. Weapons colorings are clean and very detail, no obvious bleeds. The coloring of the clothes are also very clean, not much weathering if compared to Chris Redfield’s clothings.
Overall this action figure is great, there are some aspects that I didn’t like but not very bad that I will regret I bought her. I really like the design and sculpt of the character,I’m not sure if she can owned Hot Toys Machiko the She Predator, I don’t like to compare them that way. I know I must buy her ever since the first time I saw the proto images and now that I have her, there really is no disappointment at all. Just like Chris Redfield Iknow many fans (I’m not calling them fanboy) hate this Sheva. There are a lot of collectors sadi that she shouldn’t be taller than Chris, the hair should be planted etc., but if you have extra money for toys and still haven’t got this I really recommend you to get her. Believe me you’ll not regret.

Thanks for the detail review. She look so fine. I can’t imagine if hot toy would make a Lara Craft.

I wonder if the undergarment will stain the rubber body over time? Hot Toys is notorious for long term QA issues.
BaseGuardian on Wed, 9th Dec 2009 4:02 pm
Hey there Ademon, most probably it will stain the rubber body over a period of time, it said so in the instruction sheet.
It’s from the die of her clothes, dunno how to avoid it

Great review! I just got mine today in the mail. Wow…she is AMAZING! The attention to detail is unreal. I’m trying to be really careful to put on all the accessories. Taking the head off just to put the necklace on was SCARY! You took the belt off to put the radio holder on right?
This is my first Hot Toys figure.
Great site! Keep up the great work man.
BaseGuardian on Thu, 31st Dec 2009 11:24 am
Yeah, you have to take the belt off first otherwise you can’t put the radio pouch. Be careful with the belt when you try to pull of the belt from the knife sheath. Some glue might bleed from sheath and stick to the belt it hard to take off.

Okay…thanks for the tips. I will give it a try. Thanks again.
