She Predator:Machiko-Review

Greetings heroes/citizen.Today I’m going to review Hot Toys, She Predator: Machiko. I can’t see any Movie Masterpiece’s logo on the box or the sleeve, so I guessed this is another new line that we will be expecting to see more from Hot Toys, Hot Angel. Okay a little info about Machiko, she is an executive in big company.She than turned out to be fighting Aliens side by side with The Elder Predator, Broken Tusk in the AvP comics way back in the early 90′s.

Packaging; nice, the outer sleeve have a holographic effect,it’s not too obvious but just a slightly shadowy effect. Because they punched holes on the side of the sleeve to write Machiko, the sleeve can slide off the box very easily.The theme of the packaging (box and sleeve) is from the movie AvP.I like the box’s front and back windows,they cut patterns that looks like a Predator’s mask for the front window and a I think a pair of Angel’s wings paterns for the back (but maybe there is no meaning at all haha).She was put in a plastic tray with cover and another tray for the accessories. No fliped cover for the box.

Design/sculpt; I know some of you may have read the original AvP comics and some of you have not. Machiko was never portrayed like this in the comic books at least in the first 4 originals books that I read.In the comics Machiko was drawn as a Japanese girl and not like Angelina Jolie or Natalie Portman (collectors are divided into 2 groups about this matter). I don’t mind who she looks like as long as she is good looking The head sculpt is amazing, the lips’ line is deep, the hair was was sculpted half way and then continued by a set of rubber hair, made to be looked like the Predator’s tentacles. The hair/rubber is soft and you can easily move it so that it will not interfere the movement of the head .The body is a new type body, the torso is covered by skin made of soft rubber, other than that the limbs are made of sturdy ABS plastic. The rubber skin is detail with human’s parts, you know what, I don’t have to tell you

Just like any other Predator toys by Hot Toys, you need to assemble some parts, and Machiko come almost ready to be played. You just need to pop in the feet,fists,shoulders and arms armors,necklaces and she is ready to go. A tip for you, blow the feet with a hair blower on medium heat to expand the socket a little bit so it can be fitted to the ball joint easily.

The thing I didn’t put on her is the blue knife (see the accessories picture below), why? Because I have big finggers and the strings is so short. I was supposed to tie the strings on the knife and hang it on the right side of the waist armor. To tedious for me, maybe I’ll find a black wire to tie them, maybe.. One more thing that’s a bit tricky to assemble is the sheath. The rings for holding the chains are so tiny, but once manage to put it, you’ll be very satisfied with the result.

The sculpt for the armors are very astounding! It were made to be looked like it went to hundreds of battles before.Unlike other predators the visor for the mask is colored in gold/copper. She wear a net on her body

Articulations; great, but the shoulder armor does limit the movement a bit, but I don’t care much about it at all.

Colors; really, I don’t have any complain about the colors apps.

Accessories; a sword and sheath,a blaster,a staff/spear (extendable), Alien’s exoskeleton as shield, a curved blade and two more knife. A display base with an a Predator’s skull on it ( I think it’s Broken Tusk’s skull).

Look, I don’t know why this action figure is still available everywhere that I know selling Hot Toys’ products. What I can say is this action figure is very worth it to get. Trust me, I know what I’m talking about, you won’t be sorry if you get it. Get it here Hot Toys, She Predator: Machiko.
