Greetings heroes/citizens, today while I was in my blog’s dashboard, just checking up and adding up some plugins, I checked on my WP blog’s stats, and I was surprised to know that I have a very high traffic on one particular day that was on last Tuesday. The traffic was like I never had before, usually I got around 100 to 120 visits a day and mostly are from Entrecard, but this was very different, 418 visits on one day!!! Wow! that was something new for me, first I thought, is this stats for real or what?! Is the stats gone nuts?

Then I checked on the reports and it came to my mind, that’s it! I sent my article to Stumble upon that day. I sent my Ex-Machina is coming this June, my first article I sent to SU that got hits . So, what I’m trying to say here is, that Stumble Upon is one of a very powerful tool to generate traffic to someone’s blog. I know, you must be saying, why should you be proud about ? I got thousands of unique impression a day, well I know you have that much traffic for everyday but, I thought this was my personal achievement so I post here , not to brag about it  So after this maybe I’ll be more active in “Stumbling” sites, and not just mine and not only focus on dropping EC cards(I maybe will never stop dropping EC cards, it’s too fun).

Dropping Entrecards and Stumbling IS too fun. You’re making connections, seeing new stuff you never would have before and losing track of time for sure.

Don’t stumble yourself too much, if at all, and don’t think you’ve hit the jackpot if you find a stumbling “buddy” who stumbles all your posts… eventually it stops working… it’s a great system.

I remember when I first said, whoa… whats going on here ? I had digg like slowdowns on a funny picture page, without the digg.

Stumbleupon is a great thing to use. I often get some nice quality traffic from stumbleupon. Usually, the stumbleupon viewers end up looking through more pages than the entrecarders, but that is probably because of the drop vs visit and actually read ratio.

I read that Stumble Upon users like images.

So keep snapping those cool shots of your toys. :D

Try not to stumble your own articles, this is what I heard also. :)

I got Stumbled late last week as well, on Friday my time. Normally my blog only uses about 300 megabytes of bandwidth a month. Due to the stumble, my February bandwidth went to 1.5 gigabytes of bandwidth. I peaked at about 3,500 visitors in one day. It dropped off after that, but was still at about 2,000 visitors the next day. Now it’s back down to nothing, so I’m seriously questioning whether it made any difference. I didn’t stumble it myself. Someone else did it, and I didn’t have a Stumble account at the time.

By the way another piece of news that you might be able to use:

    http://www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=22088

It says that the Tales of the Black Freighter will be an animated DVD extra for the upcoming Watchmen movie. Considering that Watchmen is my favorite comic book of all time, I’m pretty excited about this movie.

    Wan Kong Yew:
The stumble upon traffic spike is worth it, if we are able to capture some of it to become recurring visitors, and ultimately, readers?

You got a good stumble spike there, I never reached that amount of visitors per day before.

    Thousands! O_O

The best I had was about 1,300 with a few hundreds of visits from Stumble Upon.

    Cheers!
