Greetings heroes/citizens, it’s been a few days since my last review and today I will write a review of another one of my collection, S.I.C Kamen Rider Kuuga LTD.EDT. Rising Form. I won’t review the t.v series, so if you want to know more about Kamen Rider Kuuga click here. This is a limited editions (it’s not really limited, because toys market are flooded with this action figure
).This is actually is just another repaint and some added sculpted to the accessories and weapons from the previous Kuuga series. I bought this from Hobby Link Japan (HLJ), for Japanese Yen4000 that is about USD36.87 and about RM121.13, excluding shipping. This toy was released on September 2007. This series was sculpted by Takayuki Takeya, and manufactured by Bandai.
Packaging; the design of the packaging is not very different from the previous S.I.C Kuuga, themes. Just some additional colors were used. inside the box, there are two trays, one for the figure with additional armor and weapons and the other one for the staff weapon and extra hands. Same with all other S.I.C, this one also was tied by dozens of twisties and some items are sealed by cellophanes tape. There are some descriptions about the character and photos of him at the back of the box. Sorry I cant read Japanese. Also in the box is a piece of card for the inside box background and an instruction leaflet.
Sculpting and design; this Kuuga used the earlier released Kuuga Mighty Form body. Like I’ve mentioned before, this is another repaint and some touch up done on the accessories and weapons. There are not much differences between this and the Mighty form Kuuga. Takeya cleverly pictured Kuuga in his S.I.C version. Fans of Takeya knows that he always put an organics looks to most of his creations. Kuuga head was sculpted with a jaw that can be move up and down, to reveled his mean looking teeth (see I told you that Takeya put the organics looks to his sculpts). Kuuga looks more aggressive and agile in this S.I.C form. The armor make kuuga looks skinny yet powerful, like an insect. I like the design of the armor, with very detailed gold color carvings on it. in this series only, Kuuga can transform to 4 types of powered up versions.First is the Mighty Rising Form (red),Rising Dragon Form (blue), Rising Pegasus Form (green) and Rising Titan Form (purple).
Articulations; although the design is marvelous, there are some problems with the articulations. His shoulder movement can be interfered by his body armor or shoulder armors. But, for an older version of S.I.C his articulations can be forgiven. I was hoping that Bandai will use a new body for this one, but… like peoples said, ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’
Colorings;the colors, are different from the previous Kuuga. It looks much newer (colors type) and fresh, yet darker and more gothic. The washings are moderate; it looks real and not over done.
Accessories; there are a lot of them, and Bandai are well known for their generosity when it comes to S.I.C’s accessories. There are 3 extra body armor, a crossbow, a sword made of ABS plastic, a sword made of metal, a staff made of ABS plastic and metal,3 extra face/mask,16 extra changeable fist (with different grip pose),6 extra arms, 3 pairs different of shoulder armors and a bracelet(for Rising Pegasus Form).
Should you get one? Yes, in fact I’ll recommend you to buy 3 more
so that you’ll used all versions of armor.
